How to read it
Net worth is everything a household owns minus everything it owes. The survey counts families (a person or a couple, plus anyone who shares their money), not individuals, and groups them by the age of each family's “reference person”, roughly its head.
A percentile says how many families in the same age group have less: at the 60th percentile, about 60 in 100 have less and 40 have more. Figures are 2025 dollars, rounded, and the survey's answers are estimates. This is a comparison, not financial advice.
